What a trip! Handshake introduced me to both MITRE and to many of the developers and PLs who are still here, ultimately leading me to join as a full-time employee. The Old Internet of 2009 was a very different place, and Handshake was a great complement to the changing ways we would interact with technology. Though a bit rougher for wear by old age, there’s nothing that will truly replace Handshake.
Handshake lives on as the grandparent of numerous projects at MITRE, with iterations and new features finding their way into internal and sponsor prototypes. It has been an honor to be part of something so essential in so many areas!
